An Overview of Kestrel DROP Environmental Data Loggers

Kestrel Instruments designs and manufacture portable, accurate, and reliable weather measuring devices. The most recent addition to the Kestrel family of weather and environmental sensors are the Kestrel DROP data loggers, a series of small and waterproof loggers designed for monitoring indoor and outdoor conditions in a range of applications.

Introducing Kestrel DROP Data Loggers

Kestrel’s DROP loggers are small, rugged, and accurate environmental data loggers. Built to Kestrel’s brand-specific durability standard, the Kestrel DROPs are waterproof (IP67 rated) and drop-tested to MIL-STD-810G. The Kestrel DROP’s are suitable for a range of industries and applications, including:

  • Transportation
  • Agriculture
  • Firefighting
  • Facilities Management
  • Medical and Pharmaceutical; and
  • Various consumer applications.

Kestrel DROP Features

All Kestrel DROP data loggers include the following features to ensure a seamless and straightforward user experience.

  • The loggers connect directly to the Kestrel Connect App (For Apple and Android).

  • You can view, chart, record, and monitor DROPs recorded environmental conditions on the app.

  • An impressive Bluetooth range up to 30 metres.

  • Access real-time data via Bluetooth or chart the data on your smart device

  • Share real-time or logged data with the Kestrel Connect app via email, text, and social media.

  • Select from a huge range of log intervals including 2s, 5s, 10s, 20s, 30s, 1min, 2min, 5min, 10min, 20min, 30min, 1hr, 2hr, 6hr, or 12hr.

  • Robust and rugged, all Kestrel DROP loggers are IP67 rated and drop tested. They are so tough you can bury them to record soil temperature information.

  • Easy alarms: You can set threshold alarms on the app where an in-app pop-up will notify a user in a range that specific measurement criteria have been met.

  • Long battery life of 6 months to one year can be expected (depending on user settings and logging intervals).

  • Humidity does NOT need to be calibrated over time.
