About Atago
Since its beginnings in 1940, Atago has been a world leader in the research and development of refractometers and other optoelectronic equipment. Atago products are in use across various industries, from food and beverage to petrochemical and metalworking. Atago is renowned for its refractometers, and it is continually developing and refining refractometer technology.
Atago “PAL” Series
In 2003, Atago released the world’s smallest digital refractometer and the first of the PAL series. Since the PAL release, Atago has continuously expanded the PAL series’ measurement capability to over 80 units and over 50 different measuring scales.
Here is what makes the PAL series so great:
- Handheld & Portable: PAL series meters are ergonomically designed for single-handed operation.
- Water Resistant: PAL meters are rated IP65 water-resistant, meaning the prisms can be easily cleaned under running water. Whatsmore, PAL meters will float if accidentally dropped in water.
- Automatic Temperature Compensation: PAL meters feature automatic temperature compensation to ensure accurate measurements the first time and every time.
- ELI Function: Many PAL meters encompass the revolutionary new External Light interference (ELI) feature. When intense light penetrates a digital refractometer's prism, the light waves interfere with the sensor, often leading to inaccurate measurements. The ELI function displays the [nnn] warning message when intense direct light is detected. After this message appears, users should shade the prism to ensure accurate measurements.
“PAL” Series Examples
