The Dyacon MS-130-104 is a basic weather station designed to meet the standard needs of aviation installations (e.g., small airports, private runways).
The MS-130-104 also includes a control module, wind sensor, air sensor, solar power module, and mounting hardware. The embedded cell phone makes installation quick and easy. For aviators, weather reports are delivered via SMS text messages in METAR format. The user simply sends a text message, and the weather station responds with the requested report. It also includes the same Modbus port and other standard features as other Dyacon weather stations, so it can be used in wireless and wired configurations. (More about Modbus.) MS-130 can also automatically upload data to the user's Weather Underground account.
In addition, with the installation flexibility provided by the Tripod-1 (an optional add-on), MS-130 can be located for optimal measurements, whether in the backyard, at a summer cabin, around evaporation ponds, or on a remote airplane landing strip.
Tripod not included.
Features:
- Shipped with a control module, wind sensor (WSD-1), air sensor (TPH1), solar module, mounting brackets, air sensor pipe, and wires. The tripod and aspiration kit are optional add-ons and are purchased separately.
- A 24-bit ADC digital pressure sensor has the capability of delivering 10 cm (+/- 1.5 mbar) resolution. Barometric pressure is contained in the TPH-1 sensor.
- The control module is equipped with both USB device and Modbus slave ports for connecting to data-hosting equipment, such as PCs or programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- A 10 W solar module powers the MS-130 and charges an internal battery. The system is designed to go five days of normal operation without solar input. An adaptive power algorithm extends critical operation for several more days.
- The included Dyacon control module utilizes a cellular phone module for command and control as well as for user reports.
- Separate wind and air sensors allow for instruments to be positioned at conventional elevations or as required by the application.
- The MS-130-103 is designed to be installed and maintained by the user. Sensors shipped with the unit are preconfigured and tested prior to shipment. Full instructions are provided so that setup can be done by the user without technical support.
