How Testo Instruments Have CO2 Monitoring Sorted

The world has woken up – too much CO2 is bad for the planet, and poor indoor air quality is detrimental to people's health and well-being.

CO2 meters are the first line of defence in identifying elevated interior CO2 levels. They pave the way for the essential steps to improve air quality in offices, classrooms, production sites, or any indoor space.

This article spotlights four outstanding and representative commercial models offered by Testo Instruments – a world-leading manufacturer of CO2 meters.

Why Testo?

Testo is a recognised leader in designing and manufacturing an extensive range of portable test and measurement instrumentation and solutions. Testo has over 60 years of measuring and engineering experience and is renowned for providing exceptional value and first-class scientific devices.

CO2 Basics - What is It?

Carbon Dioxide is abundant in the atmosphere, and all aerobic organisms produce carbon dioxide through respiration from tiny bacteria to our pets and us. CO2 can be found in concentrations as little as 380 parts per million (ppm) in less populated outdoor locations.  In cityscapes and urban areas, ambient outdoor levels are usually higher.

Why Measure CO2 Indoors?

Indoor carbon dioxide concentrations are directly related to ventilation adequacy and occupant density. Heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC) balance re-circulating a large portion of the indoor air - to maintain comfort and control energy costs - while drawing in some fresh air.

The problem is that it’s virtually impossible to determine air quality by simply being in a room and breathing. Yet, indoor air quality can have a profound influence on people's health and well-being. When air exchange is inadequate compared to a room’s occupant density, CO2 concentrations can climb rapidly. CO2 concentrations above 1000ppm result in drowsiness, headaches and loss of attention.

CO2 Monitoring Solutions by Testo

Testo offers a spectrum of CO2 monitoring devices that collect and provide information in various ways. We have summarised four types of modern, efficient and cost-effective Testo CO2 monitoring solutions you can find at Instrument Choice.
