How to Calibrate the EC-SaltTestr11 Waterproof Salt Meter
The design of the EC-SaltTestr11 Waterproof salinity meter enables quick and accurate salinity measurements. This user-friendly meterguarantees years of trouble-free operation and requires very little maintenance. One critical step to keep this meter performing to the highest level of accuracy is to perform regular calibration. Thankfully, calibration of the EC-SaltTestr11 is an incredibly simple task that takes only eight steps.

How to Calibrate the EC-SaltTestr11 Waterproof Salt Meter
You will need:
- 5-ppt (5000 ppm) NaCl Calibration Solution
- Two small containers
- The EC-SaltTestr11
Method
- Half fill both the containers with the NaCI calibration solution. One container is for pre-rinsing, and the other is to perform the calibration.
- Start with the meter switched on and in measurement mode.
- Remove the cap on the top of the device. Under the cap is the two buttons required for calibration, these are increase and decrease selection.
- Remove the end cap covering the electrode and then rinse the electrode in the first container of the calibration standard.
- Move the electrode into the second container of the calibration solution and swirl gently to create a homogenous sample. Allow some time for the reading to stabilise.
- Press the increase or decrease button to enter the calibration mode. 'CAL' will appear on the top of the LCD. When in calibration mode, the upper display shows the measured reading of the solution based on previous calibrations (if any), and the lower display shows the default uncalibrated reading.
- Use the increase and decrease buttons to adjust the upper display to the correct value of the calibration solution.
- After adjusting to match the calibration solution value, press no buttons and wait five seconds for the tester to confirm the calibration by displaying 'CO' automatically.
- The salinity meter will then automatically return to measurement mode, and the calibration is complete. Replace the top lid, and the meter is ready to take accurate salinity measurements.
