How to Connect the XC0438 Smart WiFi Multi-Channel Weather Station to WiFi

Materials

  1. Coin cell backup battery
  2. Mains power adapter
  3. The external temperature and humidity sensor
  4. The indoor console; and
  5. Two AA batteries (Included by Instrument Choice!)

How to Connect the XC0438 Smart WiFi Multi-Channel Weather Station to WiFi

Battery Installation
  1. Open the battery compartment on the back of the external temperature and humidity sensor
  2. Install the two AA batteries and replace the cover. The LED will illuminate.
  3. Open the battery compartment on the back of the indoor console.
  4. Install the coin cell battery and replace the cover.
  5. Plug the mains power adapter into a power port on the indoor console.
  6. The console will automatically switch on and start searching for the external sensor.
  7. The external sensor will automatically connect within five minutes.
    WIFI Connection
  8. Download the Smart Life Application. You can do this by scanning the QR code found in the user guide or following the links under the additional links we have provided (see below).
  9. Follow the prompts and accept any permissions to download the app.
  10. The rapidly flashing AP symbol at the top right side of the LCD indicates when your station operates in the AP MODE. When the console starts for the first time, it should automatically enter and remain in AP MODE. Should your device not open in AP mode, press then hold the SENSOR/WI-FI key for 6 seconds. This step will set your station to the AP mode manually.
  11. If you are a first-time user of the app, create an account by entering and verifying your email.
  12. After verifying your email, enter your password.
  13. Press NEXT.
  14. To add a new device, select the small "+" symbol on the top right corner of the app.
  15. On the next screen, choose SENSORS in the left menu bar.
  16. Select TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY SENSOR (WIFI).
  17. On the next page, select the box labelled WIFI NAME. This action will take you to your device's internet settings.
  18. Select your preferred WIFI network for connecting your weather station, then press the BACK symbol on your mobile device to return to the app.
  19. Enter your WIFI network password, then press NEXT.
  20. Ensure your device is still in AP mode. If not, press the RESET button on the back.
  21. The device will then ask you the status of the AP indicator light (see the top right corner of your console). Select FLASHING RAPIDLY.
  22. Wait as your mobile device connects with your weather station.
  23. Once connected, you will see the XC0438 station icon appear on the app's main screen. Press the icon and start viewing your station's console and external sensor weather data. Note: The top blue box displays the information collected by the indoor console, and the second box will show results from your wireless sensor.
