How to use the FlashCheck Certified Min-Max Thermometer with Alarm(IC-12238)

The FlashCheck Certified Min-Max Thermometer with Alarm is a feature-rich fridge thermometer with configurable options to suit an assortment of temperature monitoring applications.

This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to adjust these options so that you can get set up and monitoring fridge temperatures with ease.

How to use the FlashCheck Certified Min-Max Thermometer with Alarm (IC-12238)

Button Functions

The buttons' functions will change depending on whether you are in the default (measurement) screen and the configuration menu screen.

CLEAR

On the "default screen", pressing CLEAR will reset the MIN/MAX memory. If a temperature alarm has triggered, pressing CLEAR will reset the alarm indicator (bell icon) and stop the HIGH/LOW flashing indicator from the display. On the configuration screen, pressing this button clears the entry value.

MODE.

Pressing and releasing MODE on the default screen will change the second half of the screen between MAX/MIN or HIGH/LOW values.  However, for HIGH/LOW alarm values to display, you will need to set them up in the configuration menu (See Configuration menu set up, Option 4). Pressing MODE in the configuration mode screen confirms the displayed option and moves onto the next menu point.

Configuration Menu Set Up

  1. Press and hold MODE for three seconds to enter into the configuration menu. There are six options within this menu. The current menu option (1 to 6) will display on the screen's top left.
  2. Option 1: is the High Alarm setting. Here you can enter an upper-temperature alarm limit.
    1. Use the up and down arrow keys to increase or decrease the alarm value.
    2. When the required high alarm value is displayed, press MODE to confirm. (Regardless of the value set, you will also need to enable the alarm in option 4).
  3. Option 2: is the Low Alarm setting. Here you can enter a lower-temperature alarm limit.
    1. Use the up and down arrow keys to increase or decrease the alarm value.
    2. When the required low alarm value is displayed, press MODE to confirm. (Regardless of the value set, you will also need to enable the alarm in option 4).
  4. Option 3: Select an alarm delay.
    1. Use the up and down arrows to adjust the values. Choose from 0 (no delay) up to 199 consecutive 30-second delay intervals.
    2. When the required alarm delay value is displayed, press MODE to confirm.
  5. Option 4: Is turn ON/OFF the HIGH/LOW alarm. If ON, the alarm is enabled, and the options selected for high and low values in menu options 1 and 2 will be allowed. If you select OFF, options selected in menu 1 and 2 will not be operational.
    1. Use the arrow keys to select ON or OFF.
    2. Press MODE to confirm your selection and move onto option 5.
  6. Option 5: Switch the sound alarm ON or OFF. If ON, when an alarm is triggered, the beeping sound will activate. If OFF, the alarm will be visual only.
    1. Use the arrow keys to select ON or OFF.
    2. Press MODE to confirm your selection and move onto option 6.
  7. Option 6: Temperature Scale selection.
    1. Press the up and down arrows to choose the temperature scale between Celcius and Fahrenheit.
    2. Press MODE to confirm.
  8. After pressing MODE a final time to confirm your selection on option 6, the device will automatically return to the default measurement screen with your updated preferences.
  9. You can now place the sensor in your fridge or freezer. The display can be mounted onto the fridge using the magnets to sat outside utilising the stand.
