The Weighing Modes of the IC-7264 1kg Digital Bench Scale

Budget-friendly and straightforward to use, the IC-7264 is an ideal multi-function scale that's suitable for an assortment of weighing tasks. This video introduces the various weighing modes of the IC-7264, explains what each mode means, and provides examples of what this scale can be used to measure.

The Weighing Modes of the IC-7264 1kg Digital Bench Scale

To run through the weighing modes of this digital scale, press the 'mode' button.

  1. Switch the scale on by pressing the 'ON/OFF' button. It will default to grams. Grams are a metric unit of mass equal to one-thousandth of a kilogram.
  2. Press 'mode' a second time and 'Ct' will appear on the LCD. Ct on the IC-7264 stands for Carat. Carat is a unit of measurement used when weighing jewellery, precious metals, and gemstones, e.g., diamonds, gold, and silver.
  3. Press 'mode' a third time, and the screen will display 'lb' indicating the scale is measuring in pounds. A Pound is a standard unit of measurement used in the Imperial system. 1 pound = 0.45 kg.
  4. Press 'mode' a fourth time and the scale will display 'oz' for Ounce measuring mode. An Ounce is a unit of measurement used in the Imperial system. One ounce is approximately 28.3g.
  5. A fifth press of the mode button displays 'dr' on the LCD, this is dram measuring scale. A dram is an ancient unit of weight. Equal to 1/16th of an ounce.
  6. Next is 'gn.' This symbolism refers to the grain measuring mode, which is a standard weighing unit in the imperial system.Gun powder is often weighing using grain measuring mode.
  7. 'ozt' on the LCD indicates Troy Ounce measuring mode. A Troy Ounce is a unit of measurement typically used for weighing precious metals such as gold and silver, jewellery, and gemstones. The Troy Ounce is rarely used outside of jewellery related industries.
  8. 'dwt' is to measure in Pennyweight. The Pennyweight was the weight of a silver penny in medieval England. Equals to 1/20th of an Ounce Troy.
  9. When 'mm 'displays on the scale, the scale is measuring in Momme. Momme is a weighing unit used in Japan, often to weigh pearls.
  10. The following three units of measurement measure Tael, which is a unit of weight that, when applied to silver, was long used as a unit of currency.
  11. 'TL.J' is Japanese Taels.
  12. 'TL.t' on the screen indicates Taiwan Taels.
  13. 'TL.h' is measuring in Hongkong Taels.
  14. And last of 'T' stands for Tola. Tola is a traditional Ancient Indian and South Asian unit of mass, now standardised as 180 troy grains or exactly 3/8 troy ounce.
